Hey Reader,
Marketing would be so much easier if we could control when people buy from us.
But we can't. So in the meantime, we keep showing up.
And I was reminded why that's so important last week.
I posted on LinkedIn about refining your message.
Nothing fancy, just some practical tips.
The post didn't set any records for engagement.
But something unexpected happened.
I received a message from someone who'd booked a Discovery Call with me back in 2021.
We'd had a great conversation, I sent a proposal, and then nothing for four and a half years.
Until this week, when he messaged me saying, "I saw your post about messaging and it reminded me we need to catch up."
We've now got another Discovery Call booked, and all because I showed up in his feed at exactly the right moment.
Here's the thing about marketing that we often forget:
We can't control when people are ready to buy from us.
All we can do is:
- Keep showing up consistently
- Provide value in every interaction
- Stay visible for when the timing is right
That prospect wasn't ready in 2021. But in 2025, something changed.
And because I was still showing up in his world, he thought of me when he needed help.
So if you're feeling discouraged about your marketing efforts not generating immediate results, remember this story.
Keep showing up, keep adding value, and trust that your consistency will pay off when the timing is right.
Who might be watching your content today that could become your client tomorrow?
To your success,
